Urinary Leakage & Incontinence

A pelvic floor issue you do not have to accept as “normal”.

Bladder Leakage is Common, But You Don’t Have to Live With It.

Leak when you cough, sneeze, laugh, run, jump, or exercise?

Maybe you've started crossing your legs before you sneeze. You know exactly where every bathroom is. You wear a liner just in case. Or you've stopped doing certain workouts because you're worried you'll leak, or wear only black leggings on your run.

It may be common, but that doesn't mean you have to accept it.

Pelvic floor physical therapy can help you understand why you're leaking and address what's contributing to it.

PhysioCore provides expert, one-on-one pelvic floor physical therapy in your home throughout Northern Virginia.

Does This Sound Familiar?

You may benefit from pelvic floor physical therapy if you:

  • Leak when coughing, sneezing, laughing, running, jumping, or lifting

  • Rush to the bathroom when you suddenly have to go

  • Leak before you can make it to the toilet

  • Go to the bathroom frequently "just in case"

  • Wake frequently at night to urinate

  • Feel like your bladder controls your plans

  • Started leaking during pregnancy or after having a baby

  • Have been told leakage is simply part of aging or motherhood

Why Am I Leaking?

Leakage isn't always caused by a "weak pelvic floor."

Your pelvic floor has to coordinate with your breathing, abdominal muscles, hips, pressure management, bladder habits, and the activities you ask your body to perform.

Sometimes the pelvic floor needs strengthening, sometimes it needs to relax, sometimes strength isn't the primary problem at all!

That's why simply doing more Kegels isn't always the answer.

The first step is figuring out what's happening in your body, and we can help!
